"We are going to go into a river, we are hoping for a bit of deer or some fish, or if we are lucky, stork,", Convel said, grinning. Stork was one of the rarer birds to find, and one of the tastiest birds. Soon, they came upon.... a ditch. A small puddle of water was in it, and the scent of dead fish hung around. Vince hadn't heard Kana's last remark but did see her tail flick, he sprung at the nanny goat with a bark and the herd scattered. The nanny went straight for Kana with Vince on its heels, herding it towards the female wolf. "This thing is fast!" he said, darting into clip it's hind tenant with his teeth. The old goat stumbled hit stayed running towards the hiding fae.

"Isn't a river, by definition, running?" Amatis asked, looking a the still and stale water. 'Well, that looks VERY helpful...' She thought. "This isn't the main place we get water, is it?"

Ki yawned and laid on her back, closing her eyes and pawing at her ears. "Night night Momma," she yawned before falling asleep.

Taima flung himself over Kira's stomach and slept as well. He twitched in his sleep and gave a few yips, but his sleep was peaceful.

Kyo nodded off a bit more slowly than his siblings, but he did eventually fall asleep. Images of a beautiful white female (Reesa) that he had seen when Kye had ventured from the nursery in his mind as he slept.

"This thing is fast!"
Kana smiled, "But im faster," she said mostly to her self. She darted out from behind the bush and towards the goat. The goat tried to turn but it was to late Kana had reached the creatures neck and bit down. The goat stumbled then fell, dead. "There we go, now lets get this sucker back to camp." she said.

"Uhhhh... um, yea, we are supposed to have water running. I'm sure there is more, but...", Convel whipped around, he saw a large coyote that apparently had the same idea he did: food. The coyote wasn't too much bigger then Mattie, but would make for an interesting test. Coyotes called for agility and speed, two things Mattie seemed to posses, but she might not know to use. "Ready for your first fight?", Convel asked, stepping away. If anything went wrong, he would be there, but hopefully nothing would go wrong.

"Ah, what?" Amatis yelped. 'There's no way... I don't... how could I fight a coyote?!' She thought desperately.

"Thank you for this meat, it will sustain our pack." Vince whispered to the carcass. "You're so fast." he complimented her, not knowing how he had managed to even keep up with her while they were racing. "Ok, let's go." he said and began pulling the goat towards the camp.

"Thanks," She smiled. "oh, and I was letting you catch up," She said as if she could read his mind. "Ok lets go," She sighed. Kana grabbed on leg of the goat and began to pull it to camp.

Not wanting to let the coyote have any advantage, Mattie pounced on it right away. She managed to knock it over, but this seemed to have been the wrong thing to do, because it snapped at her heels. She jumped out of the way, landing slightly awkwardly, and spinning around again. Mattie lunged, sinking her teeth into its back leg, the rusty aroma of blood filling her nose and mouth. She ducked as it tried to bite her face, but its teeth caught her ear and she felt the skin and cartilage split. Ignoring the stinging pain and the hot, sticky blood that was trickling down her face, she pushed all her weight onto the coyote's hind end, and the injured leg buckled. Turning quickly, she bit the thing's neck as hard as she could. "Ow..." She muttered, because now that she wasn't distracted, the whole pain of her ear hit her like somebody was whacking a rock against her skull.

"Course you were." he licked her cheek and went to get the goat again. The birds sang once the eagle had gone to hunt elsewhere and Vince pulled the dead goat across the ground. He looked at the crumbled path of dust that floated off into the air.

Kana blushed and she hoped her brown fur would cover it up. 'man its hot,' she thought as they dragged the goat. She began to notice how dusty and dry the ground was. 'When was the last time it rained?' she wondered. The got to camp and she dropped the goat by the almost gone deer. "Its very dry. Want to go find some shad a cool off?" She asked Vince hoping she could spend more time with him.

"Good job. Actually, really good job. C'mon, we can ask Fea what you need, and someone'll patch that up. Think about it- your first battle scar! It wont fully tear the tip, but you will definitely have a scar. Betcha you would be able to beat Tipa in a fight. Well, a training-fight... I might set that up.... hmmm...", he said, walking with her to camp.

Amatis walked somewhat dizzily into camp, smiling from Convel's praise. "Convel, I'm light-headed... and dizzy." She half-laughed. "Where's... where's Feather?" Her head spinning, she walked in the direction that she thought was Feather's den, but probably wasn't.

Convel chuckled, and turned his apprentice in the right direction. "Dear? Mattie got her ear bit, she's bleeding. Anything you can suggest?"

Fell sighed, Yuzuki seemed pretty much done. "Okay, why don't you go help Amatis over there?" He asked, seeing as the apprentice was doing absolutely nothing. He sighed and lay down in his den, watching the camp from the shade just inside.

Vince looked at Kana, "sure, why not?" he trotted over to a low-growing tree and laid down with the goat, taking a chunk big enough for the two of them. "C'mon!" he called her over with a wag of his tail.

'Ooh damn! Hangin' with my future girlfriend sounds much better then whatever Fell has to offer!' Zuzu popped up and ran towards Mattie to see what she and Convel were doing. "Hey- what happened to you? Are you okay? Does it hurt?" he asked in a slightly panicked voice.

Giddy happiness filled up kana. 'Get a hold girl!' she tolled her self, 'Your not some crazy fan girl,'
"C'mon!"
"Coming!" She called trotting over and laying next to him. "Thanks," She said noting the meat. after a bit of peaceful silence she got the courage to ask. "Were did you come from?" she asked wanting to know more about her new fond friend.

Convel growled slightly at the sudden interruptance from Yuzu, before quieting himself. "She is training for warrior, she got in a fight with a coyote. It probably won't be the last one, either. She needed some real experience, and I know from my own past that having my stories of training were much better then the normal from-the-book lectures. Much more interesting to actually learn to fight then study it." Convel had already paired them up in his head; Tipa and Mattie would end up together as the eldest, they would fall in love in a little bit, and wait to graduate to become mates, then they would have pups, and Mattie would always have that 'second choice' of Yuzuki, but would never choose it. It was how it played out in Convel's mind, at least.

"An old pack that I didn't like much." Vince said simply, shrugging his shoulders and taking a bite from the meat. "You?" he looked at Kana expectantly.

"I see," Kana nodded. She sighed, "My story is a little more complicated." She took a deep breath before beginning, "When I was about six month old my brother accidentally started a fire. I got separated from my pack in the fire. For six months I tough my self to hunt, how to find water, and most importantly, how to stay out of trouble. One spring day I was walking through the forest and I stumbled upon this pack. They let me in with open arms. And a few weeks later my brother came." She finished feeling like she had said all the most important things, what happened back then was between her and who she had interacted with.

Convel flicked his ears back. He may not have the best eyes or nose, but his hearing was better then average. "When I was six months old, my brother accidentally started a fire," he heard Kana say. Suddenly, Convel had a great interest in what Vince would comment on.

Amatis giggled, now highly dizzy. "It hurts..." She whined, then tripped. "Ow..." She got up, and stumbled. Walking forward unsteadily, she finally made it into Feather's den.
